There is so much to do and see in this area of Argyll, you will need a car to get around though. Below are some places to visit, but do see the Tourist Office in Inveraray for full coverage of all the options available.
Many of those listed have no link back, so please bookmark this site first, and Enjoy your holiday in Argyll Scotland !!

Minard is roughly mid-way between Inveraray and Lochgilphead and is well placed for exploring Argyll and some of its islands and gardens, with many places of historical and archaeological interest, lovely walks, forest trails and scenic sea lochs with fishing, (quiet) water sports and forest trails accessible from the house if you have your own equipment. Keen hill walkers will find that the hills of the Cruachan range, Glencoe, Crianlarich and the Arrochar Alps are within 1 ½ hour’s drive approximately.

The gardens of Argyll are spectacular in Spring and early Summer, including Crarae which is situated in the village. The house is also well located for people interested in archaeology, fishing, cycling, quiet water sports and hillwalking – some accessible from the house - just bring your own equipment.
Maps are left for you to borrow. Swimming is available at Lochgilphead and also at Inverary at the Loch Fyne Hotel which has a sauna etc. It was open to non residents for a small fee the last time I tried. There is an excellent vegetarian restaurant available at Lochgilphead called Pintos run by a Minard resident and the Smiddy also provides some excellent choices
