Directions

Heading from Glasgow, continue along the M8 heading west towards Greenock and take the exit to Erskine Bridge (60p toll). You cross the river Clyde by that route and join the A82 which leads from Glasgow up Loch Lomond side.

Continue on the A 82 as far as Tarbet where the road to Minard mapCrianlarich takes a right angled turn. This is not the one you want. The road straight ahead, the A 83, is the one you follow. It takes you through Arrochar, round Loch Long, then up over the Rest and Be Thankful and continues till you reach Loch Fyne. After that point, the road continues to skirt Loch Fyne most of the way to your destination. Click on map to enlarge

At Inveraray, do not turn under the archway leading to Oban but follow the sign for Lochgilphead and Campbeltown. Minard is about 10 miles beyond Inveraray.

When you reach the Crarae National Trust Garden you will see the sign post Minard and some modern properties on your right. A few hundred yards further on, also on the right, there is a row of shore facing bungalows, of which the Anchorage is the second along. It is recognisable by the summer house in the garden, to the left of the house, also by the stone covered “gate” posts at the entrance to the drive.
